Amitabh Bachchan to be a commentator during India Pakistan World Cup Cricket Match

Add one more reason to look forward to the eagerly awaited India Pakistan match during ICC World Cup Cricket 2015 – Amitabh Bachchan will make his debut as a cricket commentator during that match!

Defending champions, India will face their arch rivals, Pakistan in the ICC World Cup Cricket on February 15, 2015 in Adelaide. The two teams haven’t played against each other in a long time which makes the anticipation of this game that much more exciting to cricket fans in not just the sub-continent, but around the world.

To sweeten the deal, Amitabh Bachchan will be in the commentator’s booth during the match as a guest commentator. Mr.Bachchan will be joined by experienced commentators Harsha Bhogle and Kapil Dev.

Bachchan’s debut as a Cricket Commentator

The actor told reporters that he was excited about doing the live cricket commentary and said that he has been taking tips from his fellow commentators about getting the more technical aspects of the game right.

Amitabh Bachchan who is an avid cricket fan, has in the past starred in commercials alongside Indian cricketers and live-tweets match updates when the Indian cricket team plays. “This country’s emotions are ruled by two things — cricket and cinema. For me, it’s an exciting time on both fronts. My movie is releasing on February 6 and then, I have the privilege of making my commentary debut,” he said.

“Shamitabh”, Bachchan’s latest film will be released on February 6th. He is doing the commentator stint as part of the promotion for his new movie. Let’s hope that he loves doing it so much that he will come back and try his hand at being a cricket commentator more often in the future.
