Ross Taylor’s century eases New Zealand to epic series triumph

Comes after series victory against South Africa and England in just over 12 months

Ross Taylor’s ninth ODI century helps the Black Caps win by seven wickets with 11 balls remaining at Seddon Park in Hamilton. Giving Taylor company, Brendon McCullum (49 not out off 36 balls) posted his highest score in the current bilateral series, to clinch an epic one-day series triumph over world champions India. In this series, Taylor has scored 55, 57 and 17 before his match-winning 112 off 127 balls.

For India Skipper Dhoni (79 not out) and Jadeja (62 not out) produced a magnificent late onslaught, putting on a fighting 127-run stand for the unbroken sixth wicket, ending up with 278/5 in their 50 overs after losing the top order cheaply. Dhoni’s scores in the current series read 40, 56, 50 and 79 not out.
