India Australia Test Series 2014 – 2015 revised dates

The Adelaide Test has been confirmed as the first match of the Australia-India series and is set to begin on December 9, three days earlier than originally scheduled. Both India’s captain MS Dhoni who had been ruled out of the first Test at the Gabba due to an injury to his right thumb and Australia’s captain Michael Clarke who seemed certain to miss due to a hamstring injury will now have extra recovery time ahead of the new first Test.

First Test rescheduled for December 9

The first Test between India and Australia was rescheduled for December 9 at Adelaide, the adopted home ground of late batsman Phillip Hughes, whose tragic death left the cricketing world devastated.
The revised schedule allows for a three-day break leading into the Brisbane Test and a four-day break ahead of the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne for players to adequately prepare. A two-day tour game featuring a CA XI was cancelled last week, but India might get an opportunity to play a practice match later this week.
